M-119 Trail
Fisher Family Easement [Click here to view full size picture] The Construction Engineering Team [Click here to view full size picture]

The M-119 Trail between Pleasantview Road and Lake Street will be constructed in 2009.  The Final Construction Documents will be posted on this site once completed by Wilcox Engineering who was contracted by MDOT.  This project was anticipated to be funded 80% by federal funds and 20% by state funds (see the MDOT Award Summary.)  Due to additional improvements that are ineligible for those funds but deemed necessary, HARBOR, Inc. anticipates raising some local funds for an improved trail.

Additionally, HARBOR, Inc. has worked diligently to secure easements to improve the quality of the trail and the visual impact on the adjacent properties.  Property Owners have contributed significant time to assist with improving the project.  Many property owners donated trail easements (some as great as 45' deep) to improve the project.  A full list is included below.

The original study for the M-119 Trail evaluated three alternatives.  The Harbor Springs Non-Motorized Trail Feasibility Study was conducted in 2003 and served as the basis for implementing the M-119 Trail.
