Little Traverse Township Board Meeting July 11, 2007 7:00 P.M. Township Hall
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Supervisor Dohm.
Roll call: Lynda Arman, absent Bill Dohm, present Connie O’Neill, present
Ken Garver, present Wayne Allerding, present
Also present was Jane Taylor.
It was noted that in the absence of the clerk, Jane Taylor would take the minutes for the meeting.
Correspondence received:
Minutes of the July 2, 2007 Twp. Zoning Board; Minutes of the H.S.A.S.D.A of June 14, 2007 and the 2006 Financial Statements; Minutes of the E.C.R.C. of June 15, 2007;Lakeview Cemetery 2006 Financial Statement; Notice of MDOT Public Information Meeting on July 19th.on the US 31?W. Conway Rd. Project; Notice of Emmet County Township Association Meeting on July 18, 2007 and Minutes of Emmet Co. DPW of June 14, 2007.
Minutes:
A motion was offered by O’Neill, supported by Allerding to approve the minutes of the
Regular Meeting of June 13, 2007 as presented. Motion carried by voice vote.
Public Comment:
There was no public comment. Progress report on disposal of the Community Building in Conway:
Supervisor Dohm advised the Board that the hazardous waste items are being removed from the building and that should be completed by Thursday. As soon as the power is disconnected from the building Harbor Springs Excavating will demolish the building and clean up the site. The security camera has been installed for driveway and parking lot.
L.T. Township Water Supply Security and Emergency Response Plan: Supervisor Dohm had given each Board Member a copy of this plan to review, which they did. A motion to approve the Little Traverse Water Supply Security & Response Plan as submitted was offered by Allerding and supported by Garver. Motion carried by voice vote.
Bear Creek/ HSASDA proposal letter of understanding:
Supervisor Dohm reviewed the proposed letter of understanding with the Board. He stated Bear Creek Township needs to know if the member entities of the Sewer Authority agree with the letter of understanding before they (Bear Creek) proceed with further costs involved. Wayne Allerding felt no action should be taken until we had a full Board present. After more discussion it was the Board consensus to table any decision until the next meeting. Letter attached.
Report on work in progress: Supervisor Dohm informed the Board that Clayton Road in now finished but Moeller Drive has not yet been started. He has had several complaints about pot holes on Catob Road and will see about at least getting them patched. The Fire Hall substation is under construction here. He said he had issues with EPS wanting to charge separately for the 2 sensors that will be within the fire hall. He will be shopping around for other servers. Message Board:
Supervisor Dohm indicated the front door of the Township is now being used as a message board. He felt a better presentation would be a separate message board. The Township Board was in agreement and it was their consensus to purchase a stand alone
message board.
BOR vacancy:
Supervisor Dohm informed the Board there is a vacancy on the Board of Review since Steve Matthews has moved away. He asked the Board to consider an appointee before the March 2008 Board of Review.
Approve Bills:
A motion by Allerding, supported by Garver, to approve the bills as presented with General Account of 69,921.01; the Sewer Account of 20,865.31 and the Water Account of 8,795.75 for a total of 99,582.07. Approved by voice vote.
Other business:
There was no other business brought to the Board.
