Cross Village Township Board Meeting Minutes 9-11-07
Present: Howard Wood, Maria Krupa, Gene Reck, Catherine Schlappi
Call to order: Supervisor Wood called the regular meeting of the Cross Village board to order at 7:00 p.m., September 11, 2007.
Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all present.
Motion: made by Clerk Reck supported by Trustee Schlappi to amend the agenda to move the discussion of Harbor inc to the beginning of New Business. Motion carried.
Motion: made by Clerk Reck supported by Treasurer Krupa to approve the agenda as amended. Motion carried.
Motion: to approve the August 09, 2007 minutes made by Clerk Reck and supported by Trustee Schlappi. Motion carried.
Motion: to approve the August 07, 2007 minutes made by Supervisor Wood and supported by Clerk Reck. Motion carried.
Motion: to approve Treasurer's report made by Clerk Reck and supported by Trustee Schlappi. Motion carried.
Total bills paid August 2007-$11,556.77.
Announcements/Correspondence: There is a meeting at the Petoskey Library on September 13, 2007 and the citation from DEO concerning the changes at the beach were read. Future changes should be done with a permit in hand. Public comments: Comments were made about the changes at the beach both pro and con. The success of the fund raiser for RFC were noted and thanks were offered to Legs Inn for hosting the event.

Old Business: none
New Business a. Harbor Inc: Dana Widmar of Harbor Inc provided a summary of the proposed organization of the townships to make a Recreation Authority. A resolution of support was presented and will be discussed at the next meeting for possible action. b. Bathrooms: A committee was formed to study and propose a course of action. The committee is Tanya Wolniewicz, Mark Smolak and Debbie Dickens. The need for signs to direct people to the current porta-john was discussed. Tanya and Mark will take care of signs for now. c. Name plaque at beach: A committee was formed to decide on appropriate wording. The committee is Bill Johnson, George Smolak and Gene Reck. d. Lot split case #26-07: Motion: Clerk Reck moved and Trustee Schlappi seconded a motion to approve the lot split. Motion carried.
Second Public Comment: Bill Johnson reported that he is still working on the land sale, new problems have occurred. G. Smolak commented on the conditions of the roads in the village and continued drainage problems. Motion to Adjourn: Clerk Reck moved and Trustee Schlappi supported a motion to adjourn at 8:15 pm. Motion carried.
