BOARD MEETING

Meeting called to order at 7:03 pm by Van Divner. 
Roll call by clerk:  Major, Troup, Ward, Van Divner present.  Scott absent.
Agenda approved as presented.

Minutes of December 5th meeting approved as presented.
Treasurer’s report received.

Ward moved, Major seconded, PASSED by unanimous roll call vote, to approve Middle Village Park proposed 2008-09 Budget in the amount of $8,375.00.  Extra included for repairing drop off at end of stairs to beach.

Emmet County Planning Case 36-07 Hagler-Boyd-Request for Special Use Permit with accessory building as main use.
Van Divner moved, Ward seconded, PASSED, to follow Friendship Township Planning Commission recommendation for approval of Special Use Permit with the understanding that this structure remains an out building.  (4-0)

Major moved, Troup seconded, PASSED, that the Township will keep the Road Commission allocation for 2008 maintenance projects within the township.  (4-0)

Road Commission meeting January 28th.  Major and Scott will attend.  If one is unavailable then Van Divner will attend.  Meeting is at McKinley Twp Hall.

Major moved, Ward seconded, PASSED, to support putting ‘pedestrian warning’ sign as requested by Lower Shore Drive Property Owners Association at the north end of Lower Shore Drive, provided the association reimburses Township for costs as indicated in their correspondence. (4-0)

PUBLIC COMMENT- John Kawegoma

Troup reviewed checks and bills for accuracy.

Ward moved, Major seconded, PASSED by unanimous roll call vote, to approve payment of the bills.  Checks # 1356 through 1373 were written in the amount of $16,028.27.  Approval was also given for payment of election expenses for January 15th primary election.
