LITTLE TRAVERSE TOWNSHIP EMMET COUNTY, MICHIGAN REGULAR MEETING MINUTES, JUNE 13, 2007 Regular Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Dohm at 7:00 p.m.
Roll Call: Board Members present, Allerding, Arman, Dohm, Garver and O’Neill.
Distribution of Correspondence: Minutes of Township Zoning Board of May 14, & June 4, 2007: Minutes of Emmet County DPW of May 10, 2007: Minutes of Emmet County Road Commission of May 4, 28, & June 1, 2007: Emmet County Road Commission Contract Synopsis on Moeller Drive: Emmet County Road Commission 2006 Revenue/Expense Study: Little Traverse Township Water Supply Security & Emergency Response Plan.
Approve Minutes: Motion by O’Neill supported by Allerding and carried Regular Meeting Minutes of May 9, 2007 was approved as presented by the Clerk.
Public Comment: None.
Blight Complaint #21 and #21-A: Supervisor Dohm reported that blight has been removed. Supervisor recommended that complaint be dismissed without prejudice to insure that Item #9, that being the repair of automobiles and other items visible from public view can be addressed should they continue in the future. Motion by Garver, supported by Allerding and carried, blight complaint dismissed without prejudice.
Community Center Building in Conway: Budget Proposal from Mackinac Environment Technology, Inc. was received by the board. Board members discussed the proposal (attached herein). Upon discussion consensus of the board is to accept the Agreement to do the Asbestos Survey and removal of such and not to exceed $1625.00. Also discussed was the removal of any other property inside the building, board authorized Supervisor Dohm to do so. All utilities have been removed.
Surveillance Cameras: Proposal from Sound & Video Systems for additional cameras for the Township was received. Supervisor advised the board that with all construction and activity going at the Township it would be good to have more security. Upon discussion motion by Allerding supported by Garver and carried board accepted the proposal.
Emmet County Chapter of MTA: Supervisor Dohm discussed with board members the organization of Chapter of MTA for Emmet County Townships. Board discussed a previous bill trying to take the authority away from Townships and to merge them with the Counties. Upon discussion no other action was taken.
Work in Progress: Construction has started on the fire hall substation. Water line was broken but is now repaired. Electrical problems have been repaired: Clayton Road resurface is now complete: Summer tax bills will be sent the end of June. No other work was discussed.
Report on Trails: Supervisor Dohm discussed with the board regarding the railroad track trail in Conway. It was discussed that the track could be brushed cut and mowed this year by the Emmet County Road Commission and share the costs with other Townships. Upon discussion motion by Garver supported by Allerding and carried it was approved.
Bear Creek/HSASDA Proposal: Board members briefly reviewed the sewer treatment draft statement of understanding. No action was taken at this time.
Approval of Bills: Upon review of the bills, motion by Garver supported by Allerding and carried, board approved payment of the following bills: General Fund $111,669.09: Sewer Fund $22,819.50: Water Fund $4,951.04. Reference to breakdown attached herein.
Being no further business brought before the board, Supervisor adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
