FRIENDSHIP TOWNSHIP RECREATION COMMITTEE

MINUTES August 1, 2006 7 P.M. Township Hall


Present: Caroline Kurburski, Wilbur Kurburski, Greg Putalik, Hugh Melling, Dale Scott

Absent: Rob Parson

1. Approved minutes of April 4, 2006 meeting.

2. Reviewed proposals from Harbor Inc. Recreation and Open Space project.
** Committee would like to see it completed so that we can reference it in our own Plan.
** Is in favor participating in an entity that could pursue some regional recreation and open space preservation plans.
** Would like to see some kind of an escape clause for the township.
** Is the Little Traverse Bay Bands involved? If not, why not.

3. Discussed interfacing our Recreation Plan with the following:
** Harbor Inc. generated regional plan
** Little Traverse Conservancy
** The LTBB of Odawa Indians
** The State of Michigan

4. Committee asked Scott to get approval from the Board of Trustees to retain Richard Neumann for hall remodel/upgrade with funds from the Capital Fund.

5. C. Kurburski, W. Kurburski, Scott will contact Health Department and County to ascertain requirements for permits to expand cemetery. August 15th at 9 am.

6. Next meeting on August 21, 2006 at 7 pm at the hall.
