FRIENDSHIP TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING Wednesday, June 6, 2007 @ 7:00 P.M. @ Friendship Township Hall DRAFT
Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Scott. Roll call by clerk: Major, Ward, Scott, Troup, Van Divner present.
Agenda approved with addition of Stutsmanville/State Rds. Intersection discussion to Roads report (13i) and move 11b (Middle Village Park report) to after 9 Assessors report.
Minutes of May 2nd meeting approved as presented. Treasurer’s report received.
Middle Village Park report- written request received from MVP committee to return $2,000 to Friendship Township and $2,000 to Readmond Township in excess funds. LTBB requested that their payment be applied to their portion due for park operations.
Wilbur Kurburski and Dale Scott will obtain bids on tree trimming work needed in cemetery and parking area.
Van Divner and Major will obtain quotes from propane companies and present at the July meeting for supplier for next fall and winter.
Major moved, Ward seconded, PASSED, Resolution 2007-03 recommending approval of a dance permit for KH Food & Beverage, LLC and KH Golf Resorts LLC, in conjunction with request for new Resort Class C license to be located at 2500 True North Drive, Harbor Springs, Michigan. Roll call vote: Major-yes; Troup-yes; Ward-yes; Van Divner-no; Scott-yes.
Scott moved, Van Divner seconded, PASSED, Resolution 2007-04 recommending that the Tunnel of Trees Heritage Route Committee study the possible ordinances, overlays, and other methods of preserving and enhancing the scenic, cultural, natural, and historic characteristics of the Tunnel of Trees and present the Board with possible action proposals, and what methods other municipalities employ to enforce same, and how effective they are. Roll Call vote: Van Divner-yes; Ward-yes; Troup-yes; Major-no; Scott-yes.
The 2nd dust control application will be oil well brine. Van Divner to call ECRC when needed.
Scott to make written request to Emmet County Road Commission requesting them to install double stop signs on both sides of intersection of Stutsmanville and State Roads.
Clean up vouchers, one per household, will be mailed with the summer tax bills.
Public comment received. Troup reviewed checks and bills.
Scott moved, Major seconded, PASSED, by unanimous ballot, to pay bills. Checks # 1211-1241 were written in the amount of $48,836.73.
