I. Call to order at 7:02 p.m. by Bo Trufant, Vice Chair (Simon out of town) II. Public present: - Dave Shepard, Allyn Shepard, Dan Seamon, Grace Persinger III. Minutes of 4/26/06 were approved as written (Kurburski/Gelb) IV. New Business A. FIRST HALF HOUR devoted to public comments about planning and zoning in the township. 2nd of 4 public comment times set aside. Question about mechanics of how local zoning would come about. Concerns about lawsuits. Suggest working with county at this point. B. Review of Stutsmanville PUD—Reviewed the Stutsmanville PUD history. There have been various requests for changes/development there, which never came to fruition. Dave Shepard suggested we could be pro-active about finding out about development that is being considered. Get the utility companies, which all must get a franchise agreement with the township on some sort of regular basis, to make us aware when developers are asking for prices and designs. (SBC, cable, Great Lakes). Get a Miss Dig terminal or some other access to this data. Would then know about any request for service. Get data on soil borings being taken. Do title searches on properties. Get data on real estate transfers. Dan Seamon is concerned about potential high density housing in the southeast corner of Stutsmanville encroaching on the low areas near the swamp/bog. Would not be a good area for housing. Better to direct it to the other 3 corners, increase the developable area (via PUD or rezoning) so more space is available to actually build something.
V. Old Business. Bo called Tammy about True North. She has no knowledge they are opening. VI. Adjourn at 8:55 p.m. The next meeting is June 26 at 7:00. (DMS will be gone, Bo will be chairing)
