Regular Meeting April 27, 2009
Meeting called to order by B. Wiechmann at 7:00 p.m.

Minutes: B. Wurst motioned to accept the minutes with the corrections of taking out road in "$4,900.00 out of Roads General Account, correction being " $4,900.00 out of General Account", M. Barkley seconded

Committee Reports:
Planning Commission: B. Wurst reported to the Board a proposal was presented to the Planning Commission regarding a Motorcoach Park. B. Wurst will report to the Board any updates regarding the Motorcoach Park.
B. Wurst reported to the Board, the Planning Commission did not receive input from other Townships regarding the master plan. The master plan will be presented to the public at the June 18, 2009 meeting. A copy of the master plan will be kept at the Township Office for anyone to review.
B. Wurst reported to the Board, Mary Campbell of M.C. Planning and Design presented the Planning Commission with a proposal to review and make corrections to the Zoning Ordinance. B. Wurst motioned to approve option #2 of Mary Campbell’s proposal to review and make corrections with the Township Attorney to the Zoning Ordinance not to exceed $3,250.00 by roll call vote, seconded by M. Barkley. M. Barkley Yes, B. Wurst Yes, B. Wiechmann Yes, D. Bosma Yes. Passed

New Business: A discussion was held regarding the 2009/2010 Budget. D. Bosma motioned to tentatively approve the 2009/2010 Budget by roll call vote. M. Barkley seconded. B. Wiechmann Yes, D. Bosma Yes, B. Wurst Yes, M. Barkley Yes. Passed
D. Bosma motioned to present the 2009/2010 Budget to the public at the May 18, 2009 meeting. M. Barkley seconded Passed
B. Wurst motioned to have Supervisor, Bill Wiechmann contact the Emmet County Road Commission to have them apply the appropriate amount of Dust Control to the Township roads. This being the same as was done in 2008. With the exception of N. Ayr Rd being done the same time and same as Maple River Township. M. Barkley seconded Passed
M. Barkley reported to the Board that Chestnut Valley has not paid the 2008 personal property taxes. She will be sending them a certified letter with a return receipt requested letting them know they have 30 days to pay the personal property taxes or she will be padlocking the doors and auctioning off the personal property. She will report back to the Board any all updates.
B. Wiechmann will order mulch for the front of the Township building.
B. Wiechmann reported to the Board a new airport building is being planned and will go out for bid in the next 30 days. Aeronautics will pay $520,000.00 for the building.
M. Barkley motioned to move May Township Board meeting from May 25, 2009 to May 18, 2009. D. Bosma seconded. Passed
D. Bosma reported to the Board permission was given for the Township to hold the spring clean up on the corner of Pleasantview road and Stutsmanville Rd.
B. Wiechmann reported to the Board it has been brought to his attention that Kathleen Chisholm of 4810 North Ayr Rd, Alanson, MI 49706 is in violation of the Townships Zoning Ordinance Article XIV Section 14.9 with outdoor waste and storage.
D. Bosma requested a map of Lower Michigan be hung on the outside of the Township Hall. B. Melching will call for pricing.
B. Wurst reported to the Board that stumping is about done on N. Ayr Rd.
Board held a discussion regarding the Township’s roads.
D. Bosma reported to the Board a school election will be held on May 5, 2009
B. Wiechmann recommended to the Board to give B. Melching a raise.
