Regular Meeting January 25, 2007
Meeting called to order by B. Wiechmann at 7:02 p.m.

Committee Reports:
Planning Commission: - R. Rule reported to the Board that Planning & Zoning Commission had a meeting on 1/23/07 and the Township Attorney, Brian Graham was present. The Attorney presented his recommendation to amend the Township’s ordinance to be consistent with the ZEA, (Zoning Equalization Act). The attorney also recommended that the Township should have a Master Plan and recommended Mary Campbell to help the Township out with that. A meeting is set for April 24, 2007 to amend the zoning ordinance to comply with the ZEA. R. Rule also reported to the Board that Nominations were held to reinstate all Planning Commission members to hold the same offices as originally set.
Zoning Administrator: B. Wiechmann turned in $25.00 permit fee for an addition to a home.
Treasurer Report: Received
Assessor: T. Grimm reported to the Board that a 2% or less increase in the SEV is set for the Township. The increase is on land values and decreases are on condominiums. BS&A has sent two new updates. He also reported that the 2003 Assessors Manual with updates is done. The Board of Review will be meeting the first Monday in March 3/5/07. There is a training session February 5th, 2007 in Gaylord for the Board of Review and recommends that if anyone wants to go they should. A discussion was held on the Township getting a lap top computer and a printer.
D. Bosma reported to the Board that an election meeting was held regarding school elections. Next election will be in May. After the May election school elections will be held in November.

New Business: L. Bosma made a motion authorizing the lease of property with Little Traverse Township for a Fire Hall for the Fire Authority to use, seconded, Passed
A discussion was held regarding what roads would be repaired and if Board would give back Allocation Fund to the Emmet County Road Commission to repair Brutus Rd. B. Wurst requested a roll call vote. L. Bosma motioned to give back the Allocation Fund to the Emmet County Road Commission for repairing Brutus Rd by roll call vote, seconded, B. Wiechmann Yes, B. Wurst No, D. Bosma Yes, M. Barkley Yes and L. Bosma Yes, motion Passed by roll call vote.
