FRIENDSHIP TOWNSHIP
BOARD MEETING
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1, 2007 @ 7:00 P.M.
@ Friendship Township Hall
Meeting called to order at 7:11 p.m. by Scott.
Roll call by clerk: Troup, Ward, Scott, Major and Van Divner present.
Agenda approved with addition of Library Contract under 13.d.
Troup moved, Ward seconded, PASSED, to approve July minutes as presented. (4-1)
No vote due to minutes not indicating whether absences were excused or not.
Treasurer’s report received.
Major moved, Troup seconded, PASSED, to pay accounting fee of $50 for Marie Ward to have 2005 income tax return amended due to error in original W-2 furnished by clerk. (5-0)
Scott moved, Van Divner seconded, PASSED, to have Timberwolf Tree Care meet again with Wilbur Kurburski regarding tree trimming and removal in cemetery and make new recommendation to present to the Board at September meeting. (5-0)
Ward moved, Van Divner seconded, PASSED, to change propane provider from Petoskey Propane to Holton Gas Co and authorize Major to make arrangements with Holton. (5-0)
Scott moved, Major seconded, PASSED, County Planning Case No. 23-07 that Board ask that County Planning respond to Friendship Township Planning Commission’s questions on proposed amendments before the Township Planning Commission’s August 27th meeting. (5-0)
Van Divner moved, Major seconded, PASSED, to set up meeting with Readmond and Cross Village Townships and RFC Fire/Rescue to review attorney Chris Bzdok’s proposal for revising the Fire Ordinance. Scott and Ward to attend for Friendship Township. (5-0)
Board discussed the possible placement of a blinking red/yellow light at State and Stutsmanville intersection. No action taken to allow township to gather comment from nearby resident who may be impacted.
Public Comment.
Major reviewed bills and checks for accuracy.
Major moved, Ward seconded, PASSED by unanimous roll call vote, to pay bills. Checks # 1262-1281 were written in the amount of $9,385.63.
