SYNOPSIS
WEST TRAVERSE TOWNSHIP
REGULAR BOARD MEETING, JANUARY 10, 2006



Regular Board meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M.
4 members were present. Carolyn Sandford sat in for Eva Lauer.

December 13, 2005 minutes were approved as presented.

Motion made and unanimously approved to approve the Judge Assoc. Site Plan as submitted and recommended by the Planning Commission.

Motion was made and unanimously approved to refer a request to erect a communications tower on township property to the Planning Commission for review and to allow the interested company to walk the property to do preliminary engineering only.

Motion was made and unanimously approved to approve the water system agreement to purchase the Harbor Point water system with a projected cost for 2006 of $37,500.00.

Motion was made and unanimously approved to extend the existing water line from Carpenter Lane to the southeast corner of the Windward property and to proceed with acquisition of the Windward water system, not to exceed the initial estimate of $50,000.00.

Motion was made and unanimously approved to send renovation plans for the township handicap ramp and chimney repairs to the Planning Commission for review and to obtain an estimate for these improvements from Dick Collie Construction.

Motion was made and unanimously approved to give up the township’s road allotment for 2006 to the Emmet County Road Commission.

Motion was made and unanimously approved to spend up to $400.00 for new carpet for the rental house at 5550 W. Lake St.

Motion was made and unanimously approved to spend $240.00 to send Board of Review members for training in St. Ignace on February 22, 2006.

Motion was made and unanimously approved to approve payables as presented.

Motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 P.M.

Next regularly scheduled meeting will be February 14, 2006 at 7:00 P.M.
