Regular Meeting April 22, 2008
Meeting called to order by B. Wiechmann at 7:00 p.m.

Letter from Township Resident, Election Meeting, Roads and Spring-Clean up

Correspondence/Appointments: B. Wiechmann presented Board with a letter from Township resident, Frank Jones in regards to Camp Pellston. Board members received and read the letter.
Consent Agenda:
Minutes: M. Barkley motioned to accept the minutes, D. Bosma, seconded
Passed Bills: M. Barkley motioned to pay bills, B. Wurst seconded Passed
Items Removed from Consent Agenda: None
Committee Reports:
Planning Commission: B. Wurst informed Board that the Planning Commission is still gathering information for the Master Plan. B. Wurst brought down from the attic old Township books and Michigan law books.
L. Bosma arrived at Board meeting late time was 7:20 p.m.
Treasurer Report: Received
Zoning Administrator: B. Wiechmann turned in $100.00 for a permit for a Well House at Chestnut Valley. He also reported to the Board that Chestnut Valley would be opening soon. B. Wurst informed Board that Chestnut Valley’s liquor license expires on April 30, 2008. B. Wurst is going to call the state Liquor Commission to see what the status is on the new liquor license. M. Barkley is still waiting to get something in writing from the Township’s attorney stating who is responsible for the back taxes and the interests and penalties.
Meetings: D. Bosma reported to the Board that the General Election on November 4, 2008 is predicted to be the biggest one ever held. D. Bosma asked Board to help set up for the May 6, 2008 school election, so they could understand lay out difficulties.
Unfinished Business: On Hold
New Business: B. Wiechmann presented Board with the Budget for the fiscal year July, 2208- June 2009
D. Bosma turned in permit from Boyne Highlands for fireworks on July 12, 2008. B. Wurst motioned to approve fireworks pending Boyne Highlands gets approval on the day of the fire works from the Harbor Spring’s Fire Chief and has the Fire Chief fax a statement with his approval to the Township, for the fireworks on July 12, 2008. Boyne Highlands also must turn in insurance and the lay out of the fireworks to the Township prior to the fireworks, D. Bosma seconded, Passed.
A discussion was held on road construction and that no road construction should be done after October 15.
Spring-Clean up is confirmed for May 10, 2008.
