LITTLE TRAVERSE TOWNSHIP Emmet County, Michigan
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES, MAY 14, 2005
Regular Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Dohm at 1:00 p.m.
Roll Call: Board members present Allerding, Arman, Dohm, Garver, O’Neill. Also present Jane Taylor, Karen Sherard from Petoskey Library and several others.
Distribution of Correspondence: Minutes of Township Zoning Board of May 2, 2005: Minutes of H.S.A.S.D.A. of April 14 and March 10, 2005: Minutes of Emmet Co. DPW of March 22, 2005: 1st Qtr. of Curbside Recycling Program Report: DNR letter of acceptance of Recreation Plan: Various Road Commission Correspondence: Copy of Civil Infractions Issued: Thank you note from Northern Lakes Economics Alliance Director: Notice of MTA Summer Legislative Forum.
Approve Minutes: Motion by Allerding supported by Garver and carried, Regular Meeting Minutes of April 9, 2005 was approved as presented by the Clerk.
Public Comment: None.
Petoskey Public Library: Heard presentation from Karren Sherard on the Petoskey Public Library.
Blight Complaint #16: Supervisor Dohm reviewed and reported on the citation that was issued on the blight. Mark Crosby was present for comment on the issue. Mr. Crosby stated that he would continue to work on taking care of the blight. No other action was taken and board members will address the issue again at the June Board Meeting.
FOI Appeal: Motion by Allerding supported by Garver and carried, FOI appeal by Mark Crosby for names of complainants on Blight Complaint #16 was denied as recommended by Legal Council.
Grant of Easement: Motion by Allerding supported by O’Neill and carried board authorized Grant of Easement for water line extension in East Wequetonsing.
The Shores on Crooked Lake: Board discussed resolution to deny acceptance of water system for The Shores on Crooked Lake. Upon discussion motion by O’Neill supported by Allerding and carried in a roll call vote as follows: Dohm aye, O’Neill aye, Garver aye, Allerding aye, Arman aye, Resolution was passed.
Woodloft Trail Road Improvements: Board members discussed road improvement for Woodloft Trail. Motion by Garver supported by Allerding and carried, board authorized seeking bids for double seal coat and asphalt cap.
Kipp Road Hill: Board members discussed cutting hill back on Kipp Road and a change order on Powell Road to use the fill from Kipp Road Hill. Upon discussion, consensus of the board was to cut back the hill and authorize the change order on Powell Road.
Little Traverse Township Boat Launch: Board members discussed the boat launch project. Bid included floating dock. Supervisor Dohm recommended doing the ramp this year, and budget for next year the floating dock. Upon discussion motion by Arman supported by Allerding and carried in a roll call vote as follows: Dohm aye, O’Neill aye, Garver aye, Allerding aye, Arman aye, board excepted the bid from Harbor Springs Excavating less the floating dock.
Water Special Assessments: Motion by Allerding supported by Garver and carried in a roll call vote as follows: Dohm aye, O’Neill aye, Garver aye, Allerding aye, Arman aye board certified Water Special Assessments #93-1-W and #93-2-W to the summer tax roll.
Other Business: No other business was brought before the board.
Approve Bills: Motion by Garver supported by Allerding and carried board approved payment of the following bills: General Fund $46,118.78: Sewer Fund $19,921.68: Water Fund $31,803.20: Totaling $97,843.66. Reference to breakdown attached herein.
Being of no further business brought before the board, Supervisor adjourned the meeting at 2:15 p.m.
