LITTLE TRAVERSE TOWNSHIP8288 S. PLEASANTVIEW RD.HARBOR SPRINGS, MICHIGAN 49740 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF MARCH 11, 2009 

Regular Board Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Dohm at 4:00 P.M.

 

Roll Call: Board members present Arman, Allerding, Dohm, Garver and O’Neill. Also present Jane Taylor.

 

Distribution of Correspondence and Information: Minutes of Emmet County Road Commission of Feb. 6 and 20, 2009: Minutes of Emmet County DPW of Jan. 15, 2009: Minutes of Harbor Springs District Library Planning Committee of Feb. 26, 2009: Financial Statements (presented at the Meeting).

 

Minutes: Motion by O’Neill supported by Garver and carried Regular Meeting Minutes of February 11, 2009 were approved as presented by the Clerk.

 

Public Comment: None.

 

North View Trail: Special Assessment petition on hold at this time.

 

Petoskey Public Library: Proposed Petoskey Public Library Contract tabled at this time.

 

Amend 2008/2009 Budget:  Board heard review from Supervisor Dohm on the General Fund, sewer fund, and water fund. Upon discussion of the General Fund and Water Fund, motion by Allerding supported by Garver and carried board authorized the transfer of $10,000.00 from the General Fund to the Water Fund to offset fire hydrant costs. Upon review of other funds motion by Garver supported by Allerding and carried in a roll call vote as follows: Dohm aye, O’Neill aye, Garver aye, Allerding aye, Arman aye, board adopted the 2008/09 amended budget as corrected.

 

Public Hearing: Board conducted a Public Hearing on the 2009/10 budget. Supervisor reviewed the budget for 2009/10. Upon review and discussion there were no comments from the Public. Public Hearing Closed.

 

MDOT Access Management Program:  Supervisor reported that MDOT withdrew Access Management Program.

 

Delinquent Personal Property Taxes: Treasurer gave report on progress of collecting delinquent personal property taxes.

 Township Assessor: It was reported that George Tupa, the Township Assessor is retiring. Upon discussion it was agreed to advertise for a replacement. Summer Lawn Fertilizer Proposals: Two proposals were received (attached herein). Upon discussion it was recommended that bid go to Northern Greenlawn for summer lawn fertilization Program for 2009. Motion by Arman supported by O’Neill and carried bid was passed. 

Approval of Bills: Upon review of the voucher for payment of the bills, motion by Allerding supported by Garver and carried board approved payment of the following bills: General Fund $114.288.81: Sewer Fund $104,450.13: Water Fund $5,429.69. Reference to breakdown attached herein.

 

No other business by the Board Members.

 

Ramona Park Lawsuit: Supervisor reported that lawsuit is being handled by the Township Attorney. No other discussion was made.

 

No other business was brought before the board.

 

Being of no further business brought before the board, Supervisor adjourned the meeting at 5:15 P.M.
