FRIENDSHIP TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2004 @7:00 P.M. @ Friendship Township Hall
Meeting called to order by Supervisor Scott at 7:00 p.m. Board members present were Mottl, Donahey, Scott, Van Divner and Ward. Agenda approved. Minutes of July approved as presented. Treasurer’s report received.
Karen Sherrard, new director of Petoskey Library, introduced herself to the board.
7:16 p.m. Scott recused himself from board discussion. Clerk assumed chair. The resolution, moved by Mottl and seconded by Donahey at the July meeting, regarding nurse’s strike at Northern Michigan Hospital was brought back to the table. Township Resolution 2004-03 recommending parties utilize a final resolution process such as binding arbitration and/or some form of obligatory mediation PASSED by roll call vote as follows: Mottl-yes; Donahey-yes; Ward-no; Van Divner-yes; Scott-abstain. (3-1-1)
7:25 p.m. Chair was returned to supervisor.
Donahey moved, Van Divner seconded, PASSED, to approve payment of travel expenses for Zoning Forum speakers Rod Cortright and Chris Groebbel at the IRS rate of 37.5 cents per mile. Expenses to be taken from Education budget line. (5-0)
Planning- discussed changing RR-2 to FF-2 East of M-119. Planning Commission to investigate whether proposed change should be considered in Readmond and/or Cross Village Townships also before taking the request to the County.
Spring Clean up- week of May 9, 2005 reserved.
Donahey moved, Mottl seconded, PASSED, to contract with The Well Drilling Company, LLC, to drill well at the Townhall at a cost of $21,876.55 for 575 ft, additional feet @ $25.25/ft, with 3 hp pump and galvanized casing. (5-0)
Van Divner moved, Mottl seconded, PASSED, to move $50 from Contingency to Audit line in General Fund budget. (5-0)
Mottl reviewed checks and bills.
Mottl moved, Donahey seconded, to approve payment of the bills. Checks # 4745-4770 were written in the amount of $14,886.23.
Meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
