BOARD MEETING
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 22, 2006 @ 7:00 P.M.

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Supervisor.
Roll call taken. Major, Troup, Scott, Van Divner and Ward present.
Agenda approved as amended.

Minutes approved with the following additions: second paragraph- add “board” after “township” at the end of first line, and add “township board” between “future” and “meetings” on third line of same paragraph.

Elisa Seltzer presented information on voucher and recycling programs offered by the Emmet County Department of Public Works.

Van Divner moved, Ward seconded, PASSED, to transfer $151 from Contingency to Treasurer Office and $45 from Contingency to Assessor Office. (5-0)

Correspondence from Emmet County Lakeshore Association and from Readmond Township regarding Middle Village Park Management Committee read into the minutes. (attached)

Scott moved, Van Divner seconded, PASSED, to accept invitation that Readmond Township sent to us by letter and as was read into our minutes tonight. (3-2)

Van Divner moved, Scott seconded, PASSED, to direct Scott to work with Diana Call of Readmond Township in putting together plans for special meeting as outlined in the Readmond Township letter to us, said plans to be reviewed at our next board meeting. (3-2)

Van Divner moved, Major seconded, PASSED, that the board support the Planning Commission’s recommendation of denial of setback variance for Steven Frisbie, County Case No. 3-06. (5-0)

Van Divner moved, Major seconded, PASSED, to contract with Little Traverse Disposal for curbside spring cleanup @ $38/ cu.yard, said cleanup scheduled for May 1 - 5, 2006. (5-0)

Board held 2006-07 budget work session.

Van Divner moved, Major seconded, PASSED, to retain Richard Mahlmeister to perform township audit for 2005-06 year. (5-0)

Public Comment.

Troup Reviewed checks and bills for accuracy.

Van Divner moved, Major seconded, PASSED, to approve payment of bills. Checks # 5223-5256 were written in the amount of $5,964.53. Approved unanimously by roll call vote.
