BOARD MEETING

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Scott.
Roll Call: Troup, Ward, Scott and Van Divner present. Major absent.
Agenda additions moved by Van Divner, seconded by Ward, PASSED, to add 13d ; 14 a) Great Lakes Energy herbicide spray on Twp property; b) wind power seminar; c) wood cutting on township property. (4-0)
Minutes of February 6th meeting approved as presented.
Treasurer’s report received.
Board discussed 2008-09 budget.
Board discussed Fire Ordinance proposal.
Van Divner moved, Troup seconded, PASSED by unanimous roll call vote, to approve contract with Emmet County Road Commission for ultra-thin asphalt cap and gravel shoulders on Five Mile Creek Road in the amount of $89,400, plus contingencies, and apply 2008 allocation to project, and authorize Scott to sign the contract. (4-0)
Ward moved, Van Divner seconded, PASSED, to contract with Little Traverse Disposal for township wide spring clean up @ rate of $43/cu yd. and that cleanup will be the week of May 5th.
Scott moved, Troup seconded, approved, that Scott will call Great Lakes Energy spray contractor Thunder Bay Tree Services to exempt township property from the herbicide spraying. (4-0)
Scott moved, Ward seconded, PASSED, to approve registration fee and mileage for Pete Cummings to attend wind energy workshop in Alpena on March 26th. Presentation to the board expected at next available meeting. (4-0)
Troup moved, Scott seconded, PASSED, to authorize Dan Truman to cut dead wood behind town hall for personal use through end of April 2008 under W. Kurburski’s supervision. Township assumes no liability for personal injury. (4-0)
Public comment.
Troup reviewed bills and checks for accuracy.
Scott moved, Van Divner seconded, PASSED by unanimous roll call vote, to approve payment of the bills. Checks # 1411-1433 were written in the amount of $6,768.37.
