EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Harbor Springs City Hall
12:00 PM – Wednesday, May 26, 2010

1) Welcome

Present : Branson, Breighner, Dika, Esposito, Hughes, Simon

Absent: Benjamin, MacInnis, Mossburg

2) Call to Order – Mary Ellen Hughes called the meeting to order at 12:07PM. Also present: Sara Ward, Tom Richards, Danna Widmar, Executive Director; Preston McGregor – staff;

3) Approval of old minutes:
a. Executive Committee – April 14, 2010. Motion made to accept minutes by Al Dika, seconded by Dan Branson. Motion Carried.

4) Financials / Fundraising
a. April 2010 Financials – Reviewed and filed
b. Fundraising – Report on requests to Bay Harbor Foundation, Offield Family Foundation, Oleson Foundation.

5) Current Business
a. Petoskey Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation Grant
    i. Presentation of Grant – Sara Ward presented check to Danna and EC.
   ii. Press Release – Danna will prepare press release.
b. Way Finding Signs
    i. Little Traverse Wheelway – Committee has hired Corbin Design who has started an    analysis identifying potential sign locations.
   ii. Harbor Springs Area – Discussion of local way finding signs for all of Harbor Springs including schools, parks, ball fields, restrooms. Danna will see if schools, downtown merchants and chamber are interested.
c.    Day of Caring Project, Trail Extension to Ball Diamonds, Reynolds Field
d.    Trail Projects Status
                      i.   M-119- Wequetonsing Golf Club has hired an engineer to work on the gap.
                   ii.   Hoyt Road – Application for funding is under review by State and has made it through the first round. Grant awards will be given at 8/23/10 MDOT meeting.
e.    Training and Education –
                     i.   Advancing Your Board, Best Practice Governance, June 8, 9-12
                     ii.   Training Wheels On-Road Bicycle Facilities Training, June 18, 9:30-2:30

6) Adjourn – The meeting was adjourned at 1:20 PM
