EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15, 2005; 12:00 P.M.
City of Harbor Springs City Council Chambers

Welcome/Attendance

Present: Branson, Dika, Erber,Gallagher, Hughes, Simon
Absent: Breighner, Esposito
The meeting was called to order by Tom Gallagher at 12:10 pm. Executive Director Danna Widmar and Assistant Preston McGregor were present.

Minutes
Dika made a motion to approve the minutes from February 22, 2006. Erber seconded the motion. Motion Carried.

Financials
January and February 2006 financials were reviewed by Erber. Dika moved to approve both financial statements. Branson seconded the motion. Motion Carried.

Executive Director’s Report
Widmar discussed the plans for local officials meeting to take place on March 21, 2006 at the high school cafeteria. She will have a power point presentation. Widmar, Bill Dohm and Carl Ferguson of LIAA will do the presentation which will focus on the values and benefits of the recreation plan to local townships. Hughes is coordinating food for this event with John Ruemenapp.
Widmar led discussion on hiring someone to help define who HARBOR Inc. is. She recommends having a board retreat on April 22, 2006 with this person in attendance. Monetary discussion followed. Simon made a motion for Widmar to secure an individual with a contract for not greater than $2000.00 for marketing purposes. Hughes seconded the motion. Motion Carried.
Widmar will be writing grants as well as the spring newsletter in the coming weeks.

Other Business
Gallagher proposed having future grants which have been secured included as an asset on balance sheet. It was agreed to include this information as a footnote in future financial distributions.
HARBOR Inc.’s laptop has become outdated. Simon moved to purchase a new laptop. Hughes seconded the motion. Motion Carried.
E-news distribution was discussed.
The meeting scheduled for April 5, 2006 has been cancelled. The next executive committee meeting will be April 26, 2006.
The meeting adjourned at 1:20 p.m.
