EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Harbor Springs City Hall
12:00 PM – Wednesday, February 10, 2010


1) Welcome
Present : Breighner, Dika, Esposito, Hughes, MacInnis     
Absent : Benjamin, Branson, Mossburg, Simon     

 

2) Call to Order – Charlie MacInnis called the meeting to order at 12:00PM. Also present: Danna Widmar, Executive Director; Preston McGregor – staff; guests Tom Richards, John Baker, Jeff Winegard

 

3) Approval of old minutes:
a. Executive Committee – January 20, 2010. Motion made to accept minutes by Michael Esposito, seconded by Al Dika. Motion Carried.

 

4) Financials / Fundraising
a. December 2009 – reviewed by Michael Esposito

 

5) Current Business
a. Trail Opening Committee – Jeanne Benjamin was recommended to head this committee. Board members will be asked to serve on the committee.
b. Smart commute Week Input – Various events being planned by Petoskey committee. Danna will take EC suggestions to this committee.
c. SR2S Action Plan – Next round of paperwork is due in March. Discussion centered on how to motivate kids to participate. This encouragement will be included in action plan.
d. Hoyt Road Funding and Engineering – Emmet County will do road engineering but not trail engineering. Danna would like to get engineering bids.
e. Bay Harbor Foundation grant cycle – Danna has met with director and discussed applications. Grants are not awarded until after year end.
f. Officer elections in September 2010 – Kathie Breighner, secretary, is term limited. Michael Esposito will not be running for treasurer. At September election, will need both a treasurer and secretary.  This will be discussed at next meeting and a recruiting member identified to head up discussions.
g. Ford Park – The City of Harbor Springs did not receive grant for green construction. HARBOR Inc. executive committee agrees to drop this idea for Ford Park building due to lack of funding and support.

 

6) Adjourn - Meeting was adjourned at 1:09PM.
