HARBOR AREA REGIONAL BOARD OF RESOURCES, INC.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

WEDNESDAY, March 28, 2007; 12:00 P.M.

The meeting was called to order by Michael Esposito at 12:10 pm.  Executive Director Danna Widmar and Assistant Preston McGregor were also present.

Widmar Report

Widmar reviewed the status of recreation plan approval. The City of Harbor Springs and Readmond Township Elected bodies have approved the plan. Pleasantview Elected body has tentatively approved the plan, with final in April.  Little Traverse Zoning Board, West Traverse Planning Board and Friendship Planning Board have approved the plan.  The recreation plan is on the April agenda for Little Traverse, West Traverse and Friendship townships.

HARBOR Inc. has received a letter from First Community Bank proposing that rent for office space will be initiated in the coming months. Widmar will discuss with bank.

Petoskey Roads – There is excellent data available on the Petoskey Transportation Study and the web site (petoskeytransportationstudy.com) should be updated soon with background data.  Widmar will be receiving the powerpoint presentation and proposes to give it at the June Board of Directors meeting.

Safe Routes to School Grant Application – Widmar reported that the state application for funding is available now on this exciting program.  A process that includes applications, on-site inspections, etc. (resulting in an Action Plan) is required to apply for federal funds through the state. Widmar proposed applying to PHSCF for a grant to undertake the process and do the Action Plan for the Safe Routes program.
