FRIENDSHIP TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7, 2007 @ 7:00 P.M. @ Friendship Township Hall DRAFT
Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Supervisor. Roll call: Major, Troup, Ward, Scott, Van Divner present.
Scott moved, Van Divner seconded, PASSED, to approve Agenda change to add Budget Discussion under New business, 14 (a). (5-0)
Minutes stood approved as presented. Treasurer’s report received.
Ward moved, Major seconded, PASSED, to move $400 from Contingency to Assessor Office line item. (5-0)
Major reported Holton Propane offered propane for $1.69/gallon. Board will revisit possible change of supplier in May or June.
The Proposed Resolution to Support Implementation of HARBOR Area Recreation, Trails and Open Space Plan was discussed. Board had questions regarding taxation ability, wildlife impact, and trail easement impact to landowner. Further discussion on proposed Resolution will be placed on April agenda under Old Business.
Board reviewed KH Food and Beverage LLC and KH Golf Resorts LLC request for two liquor licenses, Resort Class C and SDM. Scott will contact Liquor Control Commission for more information.
Scott moved, major seconded, PASSED, to appoint Bill Prall to serve on Tunnel of Trees Committee as representative for Friendship Township. (5-0)
Van Divner moved, Ward seconded, PASSED, to approve spring cleanup for week of May 7th @ $38.00/yard with Little Traverse Disposal. (5-0)
Van Divner moved, Ward seconded, PASSED, to continue voucher program, one per household, to be mailed around June lst. (5-0)
Major moved, Troup seconded, PASSED, moved that, in exchange for signed release from Randy and Anna Saddison, the Township will pay to the Saddisions the $2,039 it received from Grossman Forestry Company as full compensation for trees removed under the Temporary Roadway Easement Agreement dated May 24, 2005. (5-0)
Major moved, Troup seconded, PASSED by unanimous roll call vote, to approve Emmet County Road Commission contract for work on Boynton Rd (crack seal), Troup Rd (seal coat), and and Five Mile Creek Rd (wedge) at estimated cost of $68,895. Scott to contact ECRC regarding adding .35 mile of Wressel Road to construction projects for 2007.
Budget discussion held.
Troup reviewed bills and checks for accuracy.
Public Comment.
Scott moved, Van Divner seconded, PASSED by unanimous ballot, to approve payment of the bills. Checks # 1143 through 1158 were written in the amount of $6,812.13.
