NEW TEAM RECORDS HAVE BEEN SET AS WELL AS TWO SWIMMERS QUALIFYING FOR ZONES!!!

Congratualtions to the Hammerhead Swim Club on  placing 2nd at the MTSL State Championship this past weekend at Midland.  The Hammerheads tallied up 1,286.50 points behind Midland, who scored 1,889.50 points.   

The 8 and Under, 9-10 and 11-12 Boys all won their age groups.  In addition, the 9-10 Girls, 13-14 Girls and Boys and the 15-18 Boys age groups placed 2nd.  The 8 and Under Girls placed 4th and the 11-12 Girls placed 3rd.

A total of 4 team records were broken at the State Meet.  Hayes McCullagh broke the 11-12 Boys 100 IM record with a time of 1:07.25.  Hannah Loesch broke the 13-14 Girls 200 IM record with a time of 2:24.30.  Dylan Hescott broke the 15-18 Boys 200 IM record with a time of 2:10.04.  Emory Fralick broke the 11-12 Boys 50 Back record with a time of 31.89. 

All four swimmers will be taking part in either the 12 and Under State Meet or the 13 and Over State meet in the next two weeks so let's see how many more records will fall. 

Congratulations to all of the Hammerheads on a fantastic season.  All of the hard work that you put in during the season has certainly paid off.

Well it didn't take long for the 12 and Under swimmers to take down some more team records.  Nora McCullagh, Hayes McCullagh, Emory Fralick and Chadd Maurer all set new standards in the 9-10 Girls and 11-12 Boys age groups. 

Leading the way with three new team records was Nora McCullagh.  Nora broke the 9-10 Girls 50 Free with a time of 28.57; the 100 Free with a time of 1:03.91; and the 200 Free with a time of 2:25.54.

Chadd Maurer set two new team records.  Chadd broke the 11-12 Boys 200 Fly with a time of 2:44.77 and the 400 IM with a time of 5:31.19.

Emory Fralick se a team record in the 11-12 Boys 50 Backstroke by breaking his old record twice.  First in the Prelims with a time of 31.77 followed by the Finals and a time of 31.49.

Hayes McCullagh seta new record in the 11-12 Boys 100 Fly with a time of 1:04.50.  This time would have qualified him for the 13-14 Boys 100 Fly!

The four swimmers combined placed 30th out of 60 teams.  Congratulations on a job well done.

Next up for the Hammerheads will be the 13 and Over State meet which takes place this coming weekend.  Heading down to Jenison will be Hannah Loesch, Josh Walker, Jake Smith, Evan Crawford, Sean Hope, Brett Maurer, Ross Maurer, Zach Loesch and Dylan Hescott.  Good luck and swim fast!!!

With the conclusion of the 13 and Over State meet comes the conclusion of another successful season of Hammerhead Swimming.  Congratulations to Hannah Loesch and Dylan Hescott for qualifying for Zones.  Hannah qualified in the 13-14 Girls 50 Free and Dylan qualified in the 50 and 100 Free.  Along with the Zone times, three team records were broken this past weekend. 

Hannah Loesch set new standards in the 13-14 GIrls 50 Free with a time of 26.24 and the 200 Breast with a time of 2:36.39. 

Ross Maurer set a new standard in the 15-18 Boys 200 Fly with a time of 2:13.82. 

All and all there were some fantastic swims by the Hammerhead participants.  Everyone had at least one, if not several, personal best swims.  I would like to take this time to congratulate all of the Hammerhead Swim Club swimmers.  The hard work that you put into the season certainly paid off at the end of the season.  I hope you had a good time along the way and the coaching staff looks forward to seeing you again next season.
