We currently has three full time coaches, one part time coach and several parent volunteers to help fit the needs of our ever growing club.

Assistant Coach: Mark Dunn

Mark Dunn is one of our Assistant Coaches who works primarily with Middle and High School swimmers. At the age of 5 he was the youngest member of the Pearl Harbor Swim Team, Hawaii. At age 11 Mark started competitive diving with the Rancho Bernardo Diving Team in San Diego, California. In high school Mark was a three time league diving champion in the California Intramural Federation, (C.I.F.) which is the equivalent to the State Championship.

After graduation Mark joined the Coast Guard and became a rescue swimmer for his unit. After his your, Mark settled in the Harbor Springs area and began as an Assistant Coach in January of 1993.

In 1996 Mark began swimming competitively with the Masters where he was ranked in the top 10 Nationally for Short Course Meters. After taking the past two years off from competition, Mark is eager to get back in the water and race.

Coaching enables Mark to share his enthusiasm for swimming with the kids.

Assistant Coach: John Mastenbrook

John Mastenbrook is another full time Assistant Coach who work primarily with the grade school swimmers. John was brought on board in 2000 when the team really began to excel. John is an avid swimmer and runner. He swam competitively in grades 7-12 and also one year with Grand Rapids Community College. In 1989 he began swimming competitively at the Masters level and has swam his fastest time with the Harbor Masters Swim Club.

John has a B.S. in Education with a Physical Education major and Health Education and Sports Medicine minor from CMU. From 1976-1979 John was head coach of a large age groupt team in Grand Haven, MI. He is currently employed in the position of Groungs Superintedent at Petoskey-Bay View County Club.

Assitant Coach: Marilyn Early

Marilyn started the team with a lone swimmer in the spring of 1990 and expanded the team during the summer of 1990. Marilyn retired in 2002 and stepped down as head coach and into an assitant coaches position.

Marilyn was a varsity swimmer for four years at Michigan State University and captain her Senior year. While earning a Masters Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration at MSU, she was an assistant coach for MSU's Women's Swim Team. She coached the Lansing Masters Swim Team for eight years winning several state championships. Marilyn still swims competitively as a Masters swimmer. She holds many Michigan Masters State Records. She is currently ranked in the World Top Ten times.

One of her main goals of coaching is to have others enjoy swimming and get as much out of it as she has.
